- Spread half of this mixture into the pie crust.
- Add powdered sugar and cocoa powder into the cream filling and beat until blended.
- Spread over the cream cheese layer.
- Cover and allow for at least 6 hours or works good. Cut into pieces and serve each slice.
Recipe Notes
- When baking, I would rather use full fat dairy products. I use the Cool Whip and cream cheese, in addition to cream. It is possible to use lite Cool Whip the 1/3 fat cream cheese, and mild cream. I am aware that it will turn out a pie that is gorgeous, but you won't get that richness and creaminess you would when using dairy product.
- You need to be certain so that you avoid lumps that your cream cheese is soft. I love to put mine into a bowl and microwave it to make certain it's tender and fine.
- This dish better and gets better as it sits in the refrigerator. I enjoy letting it sit in the refrigerator for overnight and making this day before. The tastes have hours! You require a minimum of 6 hours in the refrigerator so aim for that when creating this pie. This dish will continue 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
